Introduction of the department

In a highly technical industrial society, the percentage of distribution and physical distribution is increasing day by day. The distribution and physical distribution of products is also becoming a large portion of a nation’s economic growth. As the importance of distribution/physical distribution of products is becoming recognized, there is an increase in demand of labor force in this field, meaning there are more employment opportunities.

In the Department of Business Administration, Major in Distribution management, students can learn professional knowledge and in-site skills of the product distribution field. Using this as the background, Yeonsung University aims to nurture professional distribution managers who can react flexibly to the changing business environment. To nurture these excellent individuals, we are mutually operating distribution/physical distribution talent nurturing programs, in-site programs and others with large domestic distribution companies. By providing diverse programs, Yeonsung University will help students improve their in-site skills and have confidence in their employment opportunities.

The main education objective is to nurture distribution managers that can manage the general distribution activities of a majority of the corporations, analyze distribution channels/market size/ commercial supremacy/commercial position, and efficiently manage store sales/distributed products

Characteristics and advantages of the department

  • Currently operating mutual programs with large distribution companies and promising small distribution companies
    Yeonsung University is currently implementing customized individual programs, in-site experience programs and other types of programs with large domestic distribution companies. From August, 2016, we have agreed to a customized talent nurturing business & in-site practice agreement (which also connects employment opportunities) with LG U+ Corporations. Also, we have incorporated in-site distribution experiences and education opportunities with other outstanding corporations such as the subsidiary company of LG- “Hiplaza”, “LSIS Corporation Ltd”, “Carrier Air conch Corporation” and others. This allows students to experience live knowledge and experience, to apply theories and to diversify their employment options.
  • As distribution companies are mainly centered on the metropolitan areas, an opportunity to be employed in a great environment is always available. This means that, as the department of business administration is in Seoul and other metropolitan areas, students are more advantageous in when finding employment or choosing their career
  • Program activities inside their major
    The Distribution Management Major, which is part of the department of business administration, won 1st place in the school’s start-up contest in 2012 and 3rd place in 2013. Currently, in 2017, there is an active voluntary club activity inside their major of the students, such as course-focused English study, course-focused basic study, mentoring programs and others.

Efforts from the department to support employment

  • Implemented customized nurturing programs
    Strengthened employment rate by providing customized nurturing programs and in-site practice with wholesale/retail distribution companies, electronic product distribution companies, franchise companies and other distribution companies
  • Implemented certificate acquisition programs
    Implemented special support programs for students to acquire certifications that are relatively more useful during employment, such as “distribution management certification”, “ERP manager certification”, “computer application certification”, and the “physical distribution management certification”, which is a big influence when trying to be employed in a distribution company
  • Operate club activities inside the major, differentiated by categories
    Strengthened employment rate by operating clubs inside the major, differentiated by categories so students can choose their preferred employment categories
  • Signed agreement with businesses in related field
    Activated customized labor nurturing programs, in-site practice, employment and others by signing a University-Industrial Agreement with distribution companies
  • Strengthened employment rate by providing diverse special lessons, participating employment programs in human labor development centers and providing course directions from the university advisor.
